Will be awesome fun and feel free to send Lucic into Millers' crease to obliterate him, sooner he is out of Buffalo the better. |

Before that happens , if the game is in Buffalo and Lindy has the last line change I think you are going to find John Scott on the ice when Lucic is and Scott is not going to be whispring sweet nothings in his ear.
Milan can choose to man up with Scott , or turtle like a whimp. But make no mistake, Scott will be dressed for this game.
Should be fun.

Looks like Sabres/Bruins per Mike Harrington tweet from the Buffalo news on the 19th in Boston .
Toronto/Montreal ...Ottawa/Winnipeg fills out the division games. |

I hope so ... if John Scott is on the ice that often, that's likely not a good thing for your slugs. |

I think it wiill be one shft and over. As long as Lucic doesnt turtle or run . He needs to man up and take his medicine like a good little boy. Its a new medicine on the market called "thunderstruck" No sugar needed after , just ice. |

I'm pretty sure Scott will dress for that game but he will only go after someone if the game gets chippy. With the shortened schedule we need wins, not grudge matches. |

Of course a guy who wasn't on the team last year can't wait to get out there and seek out his revenge. We're also going to add Tim McCracken, Clarence "Screaming Buffalo" Swamptown, and Ogie Ogilthorpe. There's going to be bench clearing brawls and players going up into the stands to fight fans. It's going to be awesome, and that's how Stanley Cups are won... |

John Scott and players of his ilk provide nothing in the modern day NHL. Its all about playable toughness. Lucic is probably the best example of playable toughness, Mike Rupp and Steve Ott are other examples.
If you are building a team the John Scotts, Steve MacIntyres, Eric Godards, Jody Shelleys, Trevor Gillies of the world need not apply. |

Agree 100%, Gunner. I cannot stand the thought of giving up a roster spot to a guy that may play 15 games this season. However, those tough-as-nails, top-line players are few and far between. They are hard to get your hands on. So, in the meantime, you do what you have to do to add some spine to your team.
The Sabres have done that. |

Well apparently a real General Manager (Darcy Regier) in the NHL feels they need a guy like John Scott on their roster and I certainly understand the reason why.
I'll believe what a real GM says in the league before somebody on hockeybuzz.
No disrespect but there is still a use for guys like John Scott or Darcy would not have signed him. But it's your opinion and that's cool. |

I think the Ott trade was terrific for them. Getting Roy out of town was a must, let alone get legitimate sandpaper back in the deal. Foligno and McNabb should add some playable toughness as well. |

Yep, you definitely need to be an NHL GM to understand hockey.
The enforcer era is over. Instigator rule neutered them. If the instigator rule gets removed, I'll revisit the conversation. |

Ott's more of a pest than a real tough guy ... more Sean Avery light than anything. I like that Foligno kid though. |

i really don't like the use of Scott as an NHL player.. he can be on the AHL team all he wants to mentor the players in toughness but i don't want Peters2.0 taking a roster spot in buffalo.. |

we are set to ice an NHL team and two AHL teams with defensive players.. you would think we could move one or two of them.. McNabb should be one of the first call ups. |

John Scott is a waste of roster space. If he is dressed for that game, you might as well already consider it a loss for the Sabres.
Lucic is not going to fight Scott. He is too valuble to take himself off the ice for five minutes. Also, he already fought after the Miller incident. It is over. Let it go. |
